A Note from our General Manager about our Vision, Mission and Values

Throughout the last decade, West Africa has been among the economically most booming regions of the world. As a consequence, a well-funded middle class has evolved that has the wish and purchasing power to buy a decent pre-owned car for their families and businesses. The demand in such cars in West Africa is huge and grows every day.

 

But in the past the supply of those cars had been rather problematic. It had been handled mostly by small independent African tradesmen who come to Europe to buy cars to send back home, who have only little local market knowledge and limited access to used cars of good quality which are reserved for the established local dealerships. Making it worst, some of those traveling salesmen are shady fortune hunters who want to make a quick profit and are short sighted.

As a consequence, most used cars arriving in Africa so far had been of questionable quality, many being merely the leftovers that are considered not roadworthy anymore by European authorities and thus are unsalable in Europe, sold overpriced to Africa, some even being of dubious origin, creating huge problems and annoyances for their new owners in Africa.

Germanmotors entered the market in 2020 to disrupt and change that to the better. Our vision: To unlock the top quality segment of the German second-hand car market for West Africa while professionalizing and scaling the entire trade process so to create the opportunity for every West African to buy pre-owned cars in top condition, delivering the best value for money for each budget, helping them accelerate their lives and businesses, further driving the economic growth of the region.

In order to achieve this vision, Germanmotors has a crisp and clear mission: Become the leader of the second-hand car market in West Africa.

To accomplish this mission we have a set of company values that are the guideline and moral compass for all of our activities and for all of our team members. They are regarded to be classical German virtues:

  • Efficiency: We strive to operate all our business processes as streamlined and cost-efficient as possible, enabling us to ship the best value for the money of our customers

  • Reliability: We always fulfill our commitments and keep our word, being a trustworthy and reliable partner for our customers. We always think in favor of our customers

  • Sincerity: We aspire to be as honest and genuine as it gets, for example when describing the condition of our cars or in cases where unforeseen problems arise, so to always find the best solution for our customers

  • Perfectionism: We work hard to perfect every aspect of our work aiming at creating the best possible customer experience

 

It is our goal that our brand Germanmotors is recognized throughout West Africa and renown to stand for these values. We strongly believe that the best advertising we can have are happy customers who will recommend us to their friends and family, and who will come back to buy their next car again from us, for example because they had an addition to their family and need a bigger car or require a further commercial car for their successfully growing business.
